Candle-making workshop

Make your own candles and bring home with you the smell of Scotland!

Unleash your artistic spirit and learn the timeless craft of creating beautiful, customized candles. Our hands-on workshop is designed for beginners and seasoned crafters alike, promising an immersive and delightful experience.

Bring home with you not just a candle, but one container candle, two tea light candles, one wax decoration, and one seasonal candle.


1. Introduction to Candle Making:

Dive into the basics of candle making, exploring various wax types and wicks. Gain insights into proper and safe handling of materials. Our expert instructors will guide you through the essential techniques to ensure you leave with a solid foundation.


2. Extensive Fragrance

Elevate your candle-making experience by selecting your candle scent from more than 30 options. Remember, smells have the power to evoke memories, so your candles will not only be decorative, but will also enable you to bring a bit of Scotland with you.


3. Decorative Techniques:

Embrace your creativity!  Whether it's incorporating dried flowers, adding texture, or experimenting with layers, you'll leave with candles that are not only functional but also stunning works of art.


Afternoon tea

After your workshop, a taxi will pick you up to bring you to an exquisite afternoon tea at the Signet Library, an elegant Georgian Tea salon just off the Royal Mile in Edinburgh. Enjoy a glass of champagne. Discover an extensive selection of delicate teas.  Discover the finest seasonal ingredients in their sandwiches, delectable savouries and decadent cakes served on bespoke silver tea stands.

Note that

  • All guests must be over 12 and under 18s must be with an adult

  • If the Signet Library is not available, we will offer you an afternoon tea on the Fingal, a luxury boat in Leith

Dress code: 

Wear warm clothes and comfortable shoes. Cloaks, and kilts are of course welcome! 

Raincoats or umbrellas are recommended.
